Writing to persuade
Whether you’re writing a proposal to win work or funding, a business case to make a change within your organisation, a product brochure or your own CV, you’re writing to persuade someone to do something.
You could also say that you’re writing to sell – your proposition, your idea, your company’s products or services, or yourself. You need to stand out from your competitors.
You also need agreement from others before you can move forward. Presenting your arguments clearly and persuasively will help you get it. The language you use and the way you present your proposition can make all the difference between an enthusiastic ‘yes’ and a resounding ‘no’.
